Three different AI jobs
| AI job | Example approach | Useful when… |
|---|---|---|
| Generate candidate trade ideas | Trade Ideas Holly | You want system-produced opportunities inside a scanner-first workflow |
| Translate natural language into screen filters | TradingView AI Screener | You know the idea but do not want to build the filter panel manually |
| Assist strategy development/analysis | TrendSpider AI tools | You want AI around conditions, coding, backtests, and technical research |
Trade Ideas Holly: AI as candidate generator
Holly is part of Trade Ideas Premium and is presented as an AI-driven signal/strategy system. The platform supplies trade candidates inside its U.S.-equity scanner environment. That is fundamentally different from an assistant that merely converts a sentence into filters.
TradingView: AI as screener setup
TradingView’s current AI Screener beta lets users describe what they are looking for and applies matching screener filters and columns. This is best understood as interface acceleration: the user supplies the idea; AI helps configure the screen.
TrendSpider: AI around the strategy-development stack
TrendSpider’s current suite lists AI condition entry, AI coding assistance, AI strategy analysis, Sidekick, and machine-learning/quant tools alongside scanners, charts, backtests, and bots. It is the broader option when AI is expected to help build and analyze strategies rather than only surface stock candidates.
The AI evaluation standard
Never score an AI trading tool by selected winning examples alone. Ask what inputs it uses, what output it produces, whether the rule can be tested, how live execution differs from historical testing, and whether the tool reduces a measurable research bottleneck. AI branding is not evidence of predictive accuracy.
